My black cat dressed in a fine suit of fur would chase no rat just sit and purr
Grooming all day he had no desire to play, with being dapper he did concur
My dog enamored by him, made advances by licking his lower limb
Feeling bedeviled his hair now disheveled, the romance now looked grim
After weeks of such an advance the proud cat lost his pants
Naked below, anxiety did show lack of a covering that God grants
He took residence on top of the fridge, an abode without a bridge
Rapunzel let down your hair met with a stare neither would move a smidge
So with a great deal of remorse, moving had become his only recourse
No bag to pack but the fur on his back, he left this amorous race course
He found a place down the street, without romance so sweet
With pants on again, like other men when he sees the dog he sounds retreat

This vivid fable of a dapper cat undone by canine infatuation brilliantly skewers vanity with perfect comedic timing. I adore how your clever rhymes and playful twists invite us to chuckle at prideโs folly ...keep spinning these charming tales! ๐๐ป๐๏ธ
Thank you so much Cryptic it would be one thing if I invented it but a true tale it is. My English Bulldog took a liking to licking my cat and the cat lost all his bottom fur. Not being able to stand it any longer the cat moved down the street to live with my neighbor and grew back his fur. I appreciate your reading and kind words of comment.
The poem "Vanity" revolves around the theme of pride and its consequences. It explores the humorous dynamics between a dapper cat and a dog who becomes infatuated with him. The poem touches on topics such as self-image, romantic advances, and the awkwardness of relationships, ultimately highlighting the cat's struggle with vanity and his decision to flee from unwanted attention.

Hello, Soren,
A feline fashionista fleeing the amorous dog. I feel sorry for the poor dog, a love unrequited. A most humorous offering in your usual excellent style and a true tale to boot.
Fond regards,
Tony.
