Masking. (Senryu).

Poetic Licence

Notice of absence from Poetic Licence
Those who still deny.
Open your eyes.

Masking.

Creeping shadows masking mirrored reflection

Hidden feelings buried amongst the confused debris.

Willing eyes complete manufactured deception.

I find that the lighting in a powder room, boudoir, dressing room can be very affective of how we see ourselves, of course there is a link, bridge, and double meaning there as well... self-image and public projection are very sensitive matters. Moving read, here! πŸ•ŠοΈπŸ™πŸ»

I think here you have shown me how a senryu works better in Japanese than English it all has to do with characters rather than letters. Just a thought in that I don't know Japanese. Nicely done Tobani

The beautiful thing about the Senryu form is that, in its brevity when done right, it speaks for itself. This does just that my friend. Well done! πŸŒΉπŸ‘πŸ–€πŸ™πŸ•―οΈπŸ¦β€β¬›

Okay, I kinda understand the poem, but on the other hand, I kind of don't, so could you explain something to me? You wrote the word 'masking' and in parentheses (Senryu), so I had to look it up to see what it meant. Adding this to the poem made it seem like something else! Cause I was reading other people's comments, and the only two that were kinda on point were Sorenbarrett and Tristan Robert Lange. Their comments would be correct to me about this poem. I'm lost, but whatever it is, I hope your day gets better.

My day is fine thank you, I meant masking as in hiding my reflection in the mirror, not sure if that helps or not, enjoy the rest of your day

The cruel truth is many times caught by its trap. Hopefully the wise words warn us on time on the path. Thank you very much for sharing it. Kind regards

Nah. The eyes are the windows to the soul, which is precisely the reason so many souls insist and demand the "right" to wear sunglasses even indoors. There's little or no other means to hide the windows otherwise. This is likewise the reason our Secret Service is known to search the eyes of everyone, while themselves hide behind sunglasses. "Oh the tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive "! Beautifully rendered in brevity with excellent imagery and a necessarily haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.
