...just referring to it.
No, I'm NOT Talking Shit,
(sonnet #MMMMMMMMMCCDLXXVI)
He shows the piece which 'scaped the litter, whence
I clean their box anew; then tells the tale
Of how one kitten in the sink sans bail
And t'other on the toilet kept him thence
Frae using thus the bathroom, I fr'intents
Forgetting how they left the rugs detail
Askew, in there, and where I'd brewed t'avail
Yes, Barry's, poured my cuppa, what, for sense?
While they'd been playing ere, once my tea in tour
Was ready, Peter set him near, and Tigger'd do
The honours, sitting in my chair as twere
Pleased that they beat me there and ver'ly knew.
He shares his milk by half, they'll next bestir
To take his chair. Oh LORD, save us, won't You?

Curious, eh?
Like, Once Upon a Time So Long Ago
(sonnet #MMMMMMMMMCCDLXXV)
Bats: flying in silence just where gloaming'd hail;
Now in the fragile balance twixt the dense
Black of pure night and final glimmer thence
Of light, how voiceless! Soaring through the vale,
Then dipping, flitting twixt the darkened tale
Of Maples like a dream whose essence hence
Eludes my grasp, oh! How I want fr'intents
What, eh? The vision haunts, as if t'avail.
He dredges late the mem'ry in as twere
A trice, by asking 'bout aught mammals who
Have flight; I think to talk of, in a poor
'Scuse, odder features, like the one which'd skew
All measures, called the platypus. Bestir
The bat, and LORD, we wait anon for You.

All right, I blame all of you.
Of Liver Sausage and Laughter
(sonnet #MMMMMMMMMCCDLXXIV)
Oh, liverwurst! Chopped salad kits paired thence
With that old flick Charade dredged this detail
Up by sheer chance, til our discussions'd hail
Desire, and now, what pairs with it fr'intents?
Chopped salad kits. Toast rye and spread from hence
Not Fancy Feast paté, but to avail
Yes, liver snausage! Oh, how yummy! They'll
Just use that line in movies, but's pretense.
And burgers for our dinner, cake in tour
Dessert, how Robert joins us for a view
Of that fun eighties romp I'll laugh in poor
'Scuse too much oer, lo, Inner Space. That through,
Laugh 'gain oer recent antics til he'd stir
Himself to leave. And LORD, how we thank You.

For a micro second just now .. I thought I might have missed something .. some little morsel to whet my appetite .. as is so oft the case .. but then, at the last moment or thereabouts, it hit me write in the kisser .. liverwurst .. long thought of by me as a misnomer and maybe shoulda been more appropriately called liverbest but anyway, I got my fix regardless .. Neville
Hahaha!!! Try what my late father taught me: toasted bread spread with liverwurst, a touch of mayonnaise [or not, he forewent mayo, not I] mustard, pickle relish, and slices of raw onion--Mmm!!! Too good! Besides, I gave you readers Barry's and milk, too. Thank you, thank you so VERY much! I'm so happy to have you back!
Those are probably after the liver!!, a trio of entertaining reads, enjoyed
Yes, the ensuing discussions about liver whetted my appetite until I couldn't resist. The thing which stinks is my forgetting to get more this past grocery shopping trip. I'm so thankful you enjoyed it and the inherent humor! Thank you, thank you so VERY much!!!
You are very welcome
As for cats I got tired of cleaning litter boxes and as for bats their shit falls where ere they nest. I curse each time I have to clean it and try to roost them out to another place. Another fun read Chic
You had me laughing. I loved the title of your poem. So much is going on with the cats today, I enjoyed the humor in this poem. Glad you're enjoying watching movies with friends. I enjoyed your read; thank you for sharing.
Thank you thank you, thank you!!! I'm so glad you too caught the inherent humor. Thank you so, so VERY much!!!
