[my kittens, that is]
Mine Play With Practical Things
(sonnet #MMMMMMMMMCCDLXXX)
Well, swear I was too tired as Tigger thence
Pulled off what Peter did on Monday? They'll
Keep comp'ny with us in the bathroom, frail
As thoughts of "private," nor but own fr'intents
That cur'ous sense which allus killed cats, hence
Piqued by our usage ist? The sink's detail
Their playground, and my toothbrush what'd avail
Them of sweet play, "cat toys" are but pretense.
The catnip mouse lives at the foot in tour
Of MY bed, like they'll use it passing through,
Was that? Though when I'd crash on my bed, their
Gig was first dibs on nestling on me--who
Won let the other lie elsewhere. Bestir
Me and they're both too sweet. LORD, I thank You.

I guess so.
All In An Hour's Brief Time Is That?
(sonnet #MMMMMMMMMMCCDLXXXI)
French toast for breakfast, hit first Meijer, frail
As being up all night, for the option hence
Of Texas Toast to do the honours, thence
Go to Panera and to Starbucks; hail
Them as "the best!" and they return t'avail
The favour, til morn seems the sweeter, sense
Awaked by kindness likeas in defense
Of all good things, Thy mercies new our bail.
How JetBrite teases with grand washes fer
A moment, til we settle which card to
Apply for payment; my subscription'd cure
The fun thought by its measures; shall I rue
That? Home at last, tis Tuesday, to bestir
A pot of Barry's null. LORD, I need You.

...which travel.
Yes, Liquid Eggs, and Toothbrushes
(sonnet #MMMMMMMMMCCDLXXXII)
A pint of eggs with citric acid thence
T'assure its use beyond the first day, hail
One slice apiece of Texas Toast's detail
With bacon, and's an easy breakfast hence.
How Cynthya'd tease me, but our tea fr'intents
Fresh tea-lem'nade, I'll have fresh coffee's tale
In just a trice, and's tasty like t'avail;
I'll scramble leftoer egg mix in defense.
If I put back my toothbrush, they'll demur,
Til holing up to showr means whose paw through
The door? Check to find that my toothbrush'd cure
Fears, lined up with the laundry soap, on cue.
Nap to find they'll bounce off the walls in tour
Whenas I leave for work. LORD, I thank You.

A Spoonful of Sugar Seems to Help
(sonnet #MMMMMMMMMCCDLXXXIII)
Why was the litter all oer sans avail
When I got home? Hand broom and dust pan thence
Out to clean up, how Tigger lies down hence
Upon my efforts, in the dust pan, hale
In merry play with me, til cleaning's tale
Is just another game, like in a sense
As Mary Poppins sang, and what's pretense?
She likes the kitchen countertop's detail.
Both on the bathroom sink, and tub in tour,
Where they won't go, I guess I don't know, you?
Give him a glass of cold milk for as twere
The cookie, and he says that Peter too
Shall have some. Yes, we're having fun, is't poor?
If we're all spoilt, LORD, save us please, won't You?

Well done, you made me smile. Enjoy your read
Mmm. Thanks.
You are very welcome
Funny how some things stay with us: like several generations that have been “nannied” by Mary Poppins herself!
Hahaha! Funny, indeed. Thank you very much.
I'm one of the few who have never seen Mary Poppins - Or The Sound of Music - for that matter. Texas Toast? that's a new one. Good one.
I thought that "Texas Toast" was the brand my parents bought decades ago for crafting French toast, but who knows. Funny you've not seen either of those popular flicks. Thank you for dropping by!
