The Six Sacred Food Groups

Matthew R. Callies

Forget the charts and leafy greens,
Give me the diet of kings and queens.

Meat is the muscle, the fire and flame,
Grilled or fried—it stakes its claim.
Beef or bacon, chicken thighs,
Savory truth that never lies.

Cheese is comfort, bold and bright,
Sharp in the day, melty at night.
A wedge, a wheel, a gooey stream—
The dairy heart of every dream.

Bread is the base, the holy grain,
Golden crusts that soothe all pain.
Toast it, butter it, break it warm—
A humble loaf becomes a storm.

Potatoes—oh, the spud divine,
Mashed or roasted, crisped to shine.
In every form, they win the race—
A starchy hug in every case.

Ice Cream, sweet and cold delight,
A pint of joy at noon or night.
Swirls of sugar, cones and bowls—
Frozen balm for hungry souls.

Caffeine, dark elixir's call,
The pulse behind it all.
In coffee, tea, or cola fizz—
The spark that makes us who we is.

So raise your forks and lift your mugs,
For meat and carbs and creamy drugs.
Let others count their kale and beans—
We dine on glory, fat, and dreams.

Here I have to add only fruits and maybe a few vegetables to complete the fare. A delectable table of taste. Very nice and a fave
