The Legend of Marco by Maxim Gorky

Ksey_Gan

There lived a fairy in the forest.

She often swam in the river;

And once, forgetting cautienest,

Caught in fishing nets diva.

Her fishermen were much afraid of,

But the young  Marco was spotted there.

He grabbed the beautiful maiden,

And he began to kiss her hotly.

And the fairy was like a flexible branch -

She wriggled in her mighty hands,

Yes, she looked into Markov’s eyes face,

And she laughed quietly of nonsense.

She caressed Mark all day;

And as soon as dark night came,

The funny fairy has flighted away -

Mark's soul became very sad...

And Marco walks days and nights dreary

In the forest, above the Danubqe River,

Was looking, was moaning: “Where is the fairy?”

And the waves laughed: “We don’t  know ever !”

But he shouted at them: “You are the foggers!

You play with   her yourself shamesely!”

And the foolish young man rushed as beggars

To the Danube to find his  fairy finally.

A fairy bathes in the Danube river

As priory  lorn Mark , used, she swam;

And young Mark is no longer there...

But still at least the song remains from Mark!

And you will live on earth, bold,

How blind worms live in ground

About you no fairy tales will be told,

Nobody’ll sing any songs about you!
