Dandelion Clocks

Kevin Hulme

She Loves me:  And wrote my Name on Golden Sands.

She Loves me not: To shy away from holding Hands.

She Loves me:  To close her eyes when Kissed Goodnight.

She Loves me not :  No Night-Cap drink did she invite.

She Loves me:  Myself she danced till early dawn.

She Loves me not:  To other smiles her attention drawn.

She Loves me:  To keep my letters beside her Bed.

She Loves me not:  But can never recall those Sentiments said.

She Loves me:  My picture alights her ringing Phone.

She Loves me not:  Old flames are saved, disquiet sown.

For It's an ancient Story blowing through time

That doubtful Hearts will always find,

For what is Love when we begin

To trust our fortunes to the Wind.?

        Hello, Kevin,

I remember this so well. Plucking petals from a daisy hoping the last petal would confirm her love, sadly never worked for me. Wonderful idea, how you have attached poetic extras to each petal, as it were and to do so with excellence and a sense of nostalgia. Very well done, Kevin. I have enjoyed this one, no end.

        Kind regards,

        Tony.
