Never the Destination

Tristan Robert Lange

Prostrated before Ultimate Reality,
In reverance to the infinite in all,
Love moves the soul serenely.
Great are the sacrifices made,
Religiously, by those who go forth.
Iehi Aour. Let their be light.
Many will choose a slow-boil death.
Against all odds, the pilgrim progresses,
Giving the journey their all for
Eternity is, but never the destination.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This is the fourth vision in The Book of Tittu — a cycle of eight poems bound by a single, unflinching voice. Here, the path stretches on without promise of arrival, reminding us that the journey itself is where transformation takes root.

Bold and powerful words that expand the vista to horizons beyond reach and the desire to return home that can no longer be found. Well written and a fave

What, dearest me, is it about aught "twisty" erm, for lack of a better word: stuff, that we like cats cannot avoid entangling ourselves therein, to our ultimate detriment? Rarer know than most whom Jesus is, and apparently therefore, what or whom love is, is that? And thus the philosopher unrolls another tapestry for our indulgence, feigning, like a certain individual in Genesis 3, we'll be enlightened if only we partake. Where the KJV renders it "...He hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end." (Ecc 3:11b) all the rest render it that "...He put eternity in their hearts--" and fewer know than not how tis all perverted. Pardon me, please.
Beautifully rendered with exceptional imagery and a tantalizing poignancy. Thank you for sharing.

Good write T. Does Popeye 'arrive' sometimes, always, or never? Arrive where? Don't answer that! LOL.

Superb last lines. It is in fact the journey more so than the destination. I hear, live for today and enjoy every second, in this 🌹 beautiful. 🌹

This is a beautifully reflective poem—quietly powerful, with a deep sense of reverence. The message that the journey itself holds the meaning, not the destination, is timeless and moving. Very nicely written dearest Tittu ❤️ A fave for sure 🌹
