安らかに眠るKishida Toshiko
flowers do not run away…
to grow beautiful, healthy plants
try to appreciate
the feeling of being one
set out trellises in ways
that nurtures and promotes growth
to produce magnificent blooms
imagine to be the flower
yet what encourages gardeners
to cause their flowers to suffer?
Is it the promise of profit/heaven
that leads to cruelty of flowers
rather than tenderly?
a truly unfortunate, pitiful reason
this must be for the flowers
who must suffer, and…for what…
To be equally yolked
may make convenience
but convenience in this life
does not mean better
-$15,000 in debt
what’s honorable?
pay what’s owed… despite interest
please give me some time

Love the idea of cruelty to flowers. For years I have pushed the idea that plants as life forms deserve the same dignity as animals and in animals I include man although I think he ranks rather far down the scale. A good read Demar
Oooh. Last poem? Why stop? I will miss reading them, for what it is worth, dear brother! I am glad you will still be popping on and saying hi and...if you changer your mind...we'll be here ready to read and support. Or, I'll speak for me anywho! As for your poems, thy're a mix of tenderness and frustration…nurturing imagery set right alongside the weight of struggle. The contrast makes the plea at the end all the more human. Well expressed, my friend. Will be missing you. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
I love all the flowers in my garden and speak to them constantly........... you should keep writing........ that was lovely.
This is very lovely, a triple offering of poems for the readers' perusal, each charming, thought-provoking, and beautifully rendered with excellent and a haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.
Going out with a bang for sure .. but what a way to go .. Hope you change your mind ..Good luck regardless & write on ... please .. Neville
I sense a sad note? I wish I could help. Many men of meagre means could add up to a victory.
The poem also touches on personal struggles with debt, emphasizing the weight of financial burdens and the honor in fulfilling obligations.
