The Lost Idea.

Goldfinch60

The idea was in my mind

To write a poem.

That poem never came

As other words took over

And another poem was written.

I wonder if I will ever write

The original poem.

Would that be the poem you were going to write tomorrow, as in the thing I never get right: 'Yesterday was the day you worried about tomorrow', is it?! lol.

Maybe it was Orchi, I may never know.

That poem is now conversing with a dozen others of mine that met the same fate. A poem that I can identify with.

They never come back! Unlike me my friend.
Always good to see you and receive the music gift I'd never find or play.

A quiet, meta‑reflection on creativity’s elusive nature; the intended poem slipping away as another takes its place. In its simplicity, it captures that familiar mix of acceptance and lingering curiosity, leaving the “lost idea” suspended, perhaps forever, in possibility. Good one, Andy; I've "lost" a few this way, this year...

Thank you for your kind understanding words arqios.
