He went through
Methodically
Mechanically
He had prepared a checklist
But now, in this moment
He didn't need it
He saw them
The leaking pipes
The troubled vents
He had his toolbox,
But now, in this moment
He wouldn't use it
A simple turn
Lefty loosey
Righty tighty
All signs of a problem
Were now, in this moment
Secured down below
Satisfied
A job well down
He praised his work
All signs of danger
Were now, in this moment
Hidden down below
He went back
Complacently
Contently
Put his feet up
Because, in this moment
He didn't want it
He rested
As pressure built
Toolbox useless
As the pipes burst
And now, in this moment
He would feel it
