Hope

Keeter C

Euphoria and enthusiasm I understand.

But all of these are not born but copied in the mind of man.

We seem to seek what already taught.

Why follow it we do not?

Pockets of good still remain.

In the future will they maintain?

Human nature is carnal.

Yet we think our judgment to be final.

Most care but for themselves.

Where does compassion yet dwell.

Faith in man these days hard to find.

Guess I got left behind.

Funny, that might actually be useful. Guess you remind me of a discussion with one of my brothers years and years ago, he telling me sadly he was losing his faith in mankind. Last I saw him he'd figured darker things out and enlightened me. Beautifully rendered with excellent imagery and a haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.
