Locked Doors

James Michael

I went to a church today,

as I’ve done on other Sundays.

The doors were locked again.

Do I need a pass to go in?

Do I have to partake in mass?

Do I have to be in their elite class?

All I wanted today was to go in,

yet the doors were locked again.

A message in metaphor that churches are open to those that belong to their elite or rather those that believe as they do. Typical of religions in general that my god is bigger than your god and mine is the only right one. Good read

Some are locked midweek, if there's no events or services, or no-one to run 'drop-ins'.

I call the way things were “usetas”. The church I went to for mass on a regular basis always had their doors unlocked. We could go in there anytime to pray. The churches I want to go into now when service isn’t happening have their doors locked. A sign of the times I guess.
