The Ones Behind

Tristan Robert Lange

I am exactly who I should be.
No one dicates identity. I am.
Congruence is a congregational farce.
Only fools follow the folly of fools. Duh.
Neverland—the only reality—the matrix is real.
God gives—never dictates. Free will is the law.
Religion is for people, not people for religion.
Under no circumstances, ever, conform.
Evil is laid best by the masons of mediocrity,
Never happy but for the static status quo.
Creativity is God’s image engrained.
Eternity is now, we’re the ones behind.

The power of accepting oneself as sufficient and changing only for oneself is a primary recognition in identity. A lovely and powerful write

Amen. Thank you so much, Soren. I'm glad it delivered! Your time and throughts are very important. πŸ–€πŸ™πŸ•―οΈπŸ¦β€β¬›

You are always welcome my friend

"Congruence is a congregational farce." not going to forget soon. What a poem. I always rebelled (quite foolishly if I may add) against having to conform. Somehow this poem is going to be an anthem for me. Do I need to spend even a single thought about pressing "fave"- you be the judge.

πŸ₯° Thank you, my dear friend...for your time, your thoughts and for the fave. I am so glad that the poem, that line in particular as it took some word wrestling to put together...but when I arrived at it, I knew it was one of the better lines of the poem. Thank you for that affirmation and, again, for your support! πŸ–€πŸ™πŸ•―οΈπŸ¦β€β¬›

All I know is - Popeye's never mediocre. Why not? Don't answer that! lol.

He's stronger than sea men, because he...wait, that's not how the song goes! 🀣

            • orchidee

'I'm strong to the finish,' and 'Cos I eats me spinach,' don't rhyme exactly. It's finish and spinish, OR finich and spinach. What am I on about?! lol.

              • Tristan Robert Lange

LOL! A lot closer than my attempt...lol! Oh...and don't finish or spinnish mine either!

Fascinating. Never dabbled meself in the vicinity of the deity invoked, or if I have then he was addressed by the name the Scriptures gave, I hope. Creepy and macabre with a frightening import. Excellently rendered with perfect imagery and a ghastly poignancy. Thank you for sharing.

Yes! Missy, thank you, my friend. You caught the weight of that β€œI am”. To clarify, I don’t mean it in the Divine Name sense, but the little β€œi am” β€” identity rooted in God’s image. Because of God, I am. We all are. Sin may stain it, but it can never erase it. That’s the core behind these words. Also, it's curious that God chose I AM THAT I AM/I WILL BE WHAT I WILL BE as a way to respond to Moses when asked who Moses should say sent him. God's response is basically saying "tell them WHOEVER sent you." God's wisdom is so beyond us...but in that, I hear God saying "I am incongruent with your ways. Believe and follow and witness what I can do." God is good all the time! Grateful as always for your presence. πŸŒΉπŸ–€πŸ™πŸ•―οΈπŸ¦β€β¬›

Acceptance of ones self is the strongest form of power one can have dear Tristan, despite it all, you came through. Kudos. Love yourself and remember that emotional attachment to anyone but your own soul can fail you. 🌹

Amen, dearest Teddy! It is a daily struggle in me...but I think I am finally getting there. Thank you for seeing me Teddy. You are a wise and perceptive soul, indeed. πŸ’œπŸ™πŸ•―οΈπŸ¦β€β¬›
