Forsaken
The question remains, what is your status?
Married or single? Can we become us?
Or are we destined to fall at the first step?
If you are taken, then please can I have back my breath?
I need it to breathe into a new relationship,
With a truly single woman who wants me to kiss.
Yet here I stand, fixated on beauty,
So stunningly wonderful, you swim right through me,
And woe is me if we can’t be,
Because at this moment in time you are all that I need.
But if you are taken, then I am forsaken,
But I can find a new air to breathe.
Another maiden who does want my cuddles,
And will read my riddles,
Who won’t want a dog,
But will have a cat, probably called Tiddles.
But I couldn’t do that,
I think I would name my cat ****.
Don’t ask me why,
That does not concern you.

A plea for honesty that leads to certainty and trust upon which a relationship must be built. A poetic letter of question that must be answered before one can move on. Nicely done
Thank you. I'm currently going through my poems, responding to comments and using AI and YouTube to add pictures or songs to my poems that don't have any sort of image or music video to go with them. The question in the first paragraph changes how a person can react to another person. Can I flirt with her or can I not etc.
You are most welcome
