Driving Offence

Tom Dylan

Notice of absence from Tom Dylan
Sorry if there is a delay in responses. Sometimes life gets in the way. As John Lennon said, life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.

F*** she yelled at the tail-backed traffic,

red light illuminating her angry features,

I don’t believe this s***!

Look at him, look at the p**** pushing in!

If he thinks he can cut me up,

he’s got another thing coming!

I knew that t*** in the flash car

would do that! Get in the right lane!

I clung on to the door handle tightly

as she swerved and swore her way through

the rush-hour traffic.

Finally I’d had enough. I had to say something.

C****! I said.

What did you say?

She asked, eyes wide in shock.

I don’t think anyone had ever spoken to her like that before.

I smiled and repeated myself.

Chill!

Inspired by a lift from the worst driver I have ever seen. Thanks Orchi.

Road rage rolls rapidly round regular routes. A poem quite identifiable in a world too much in a hurry. Nicely done

That's exactly it, Soren. I tried to capture the angry driving in a poem. Thanks as always for your comments.

Do they still do those parachute jumping courses which provided much instruction on how to land?

Go man, go - and hope she hasn't locked the doors from the inside................

Haha, yes, rolling from a speeding vehicle! Like something from a Bond film. πŸ™‚

Save yourself to write another poem....

That was some Driving Test. Did she Pass at all!

              • Tom Dylan

Honestly, it was the worst driving I have ever experienced!

Tom, this cracked me up. The chaos of traffic and swearing builds so tense…and then that punchline just drops it all. Perfect. πŸŒΉπŸ–€πŸ™πŸ•―οΈπŸ¦β€β¬›

Chill indeed, there are so many bad drivers out there nowadays Tom.

Honestly, Andy. It was like we were in a car chase! πŸ˜€
