That’s a good place to be, a metaphor;
No challenge re truth: is that what it’s for?
Well that’s just the way it appears to play;
And what it amounts to at end of day.

For now we be moved!
Don't blame yer...
Those challenges are always there in our life Dave and when we face them and overcome them our life becomes stronger.
Andy
Solved then, Andy?
Is this a metaphorical poem, or a literal one? (If 'literal' and 'metaphorical' are opposites?). What is Orchi on about now?!
All I know about metaphors is when someone asked me: 'Why did you meet her for?' Corny joke there! lol.
Think you are dragging the chain, orchi - that joke's already been done here, so unless you have the copyright, and the other one is the interloper, would you consider moving swiftly on....?
Yes, Fido told me to write a poem about stopping corny jokes.
Git 'im in 'ere - I wanter 'ave a quiet word......
I must say - and Fido says too - this is one of the best poem titles I've come across! Heehee.
Yeh - it did take much creativity energy and refinement.... Look since you are both being so agreeable...perhaps I'll forego the quiet word for the moment....
I love metaphorical bashing of metaphors. Those obtuse passages demand too much processing power of my outdated CPU. Energy consumption should be reduced for sustainable living...so less metaphorical excursion into the blackhole of artistic indulgence. Loved the poem.
Glad you loved the poem. I'm extremely grateful for the feedback. A wee bit mystified as to your response. I would be interested to know which 'passage' you find the most obtuse. I obviously need to develop my expressive skills.
No passage in the poem. My problem with metaphores is an old one. I try to keep it under the wraps. But somehow spilled it in the open...not sure why. Sorry for that.
Loved the poem (as mentioned before).
A relief. Great. Thanks.
I read this earlier and thought I would return and pen something witty .. I did return but I didn't if you get wot I mean .. enjoyed both times tho & there you are .. wot else is a meta for eh' .. Neville
Do get wot you mean, Neville... The inimitable orchi (above) has cornered the market in witty responses, I fear.
Ain’t too much meta about this though. Not an attack, as I've mentioned elsewhere, on metaphors per se, but the continuation of a small feud (oh you couldn’t believe Dave could do one of them, could yer?) with the chief purveyor of an overabundance of metaphors here who turned quite nasty and condescending. Blocked. Feel this may be the last nail. Time perhaps to move on….
It's a literary sleight of hand should we choose it to be... clever but also quite possibly underhanded!
Underhanded? In what way should I have avoided this appearance? My self image does not countenance such a strategy...
haha... I agree, that is a construct of thinking and have not encountered it on the road/read...
You assure me not on my road/ read?
Not on that road either, mate; most assuredly so. 🤩
Situation stable then......
'See ya around.
For sure DD🕊️🙏🏻
Agree with you here. 👍💐
Many thanks. Beware of too much metaphor...🙏👍
noted - and i sincerely hope lesson learnt.. although one cannot commit 100%
have a great day
You too.... Do the best you can....
of course i will, Sir..
thanks for the much needed advice..
Ok - time to close that one down. No 'Sir' please!
sure, done...no more 'sir' for you
take care - lots of good wishes
though metaphors come in handy at all times - but i must remind myself not to overuse them after reading this - time to move on...
Look, I try never to give advice (opinions are a different matter!).
'Bye for now😊
both opinions and advice always welcome from people I look up to - so you may give both anytime..
take care - have a relaxed weekend...
Shouldn't look up to anyone. Just because I or anyone else states it, however right they might have been in the past, doesn't necessarily make them right this time...Every proposition should be tested.
yes - i agree that all propositions should be tried and tested before usage; but when it comes from an impeccable source who has done his/her homework, then trust takes place and a wee bit of lassitude steps in..
but -once again - what you say makes perfect sense - maybe experience speaking ?
anyways have a beautiful weekend
