The Games Some People Play…

Doggerel Dave

Violence, oh what entertainment:

PC shoot up simulations,

TV, movie representations.

Here lie values abandonment.

Seen as escapism - it’s marred:

Young male minds known to love this stuff…

Real life, relationships too tough -

And rational thought just too hard.

Such true words Dave, why can't our world be more peaceful.

    Andy

    • Doggerel Dave

      A question worth pondering, Andy.....

    • orchidee

Oohh yes, lack of rational thought applies to me too. Well, I only got 3 brain cells to think with. lol.

      • Doggerel Dave

Knew that already - fresh news, SVP.

        • orchidee

Yes - since when was I rational?! lol.

          • Doggerel Dave

It's obvious that three brain cells are too many. There's a lack of organization and communication. Couldn't you send two away on separate holidays? When the stay at home cell gets distraught and lonely, that's the time to feed it some nutritious brain food and institute a training programme which would build it up to cutting edge capacity...or something like that......

            • orchidee

              Yes lol.

            • arqios

No it isn’t but there you go. Very relatable and resonates clearly. 🕊️🙏🏻

              • Doggerel Dave

Yeh - that's where I'm forced to go far too often (Don't tell me I'm rubbing shoulders with the wrong people..😢..)

              • Tristan Robert Lange

If it's the truth, its the truth. This is the truth.💯 Well done, Dave! 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

                • Doggerel Dave

In truth I thank ye, Tristan.👍

I've always been mystified about the entertainment value of zombies. If I want to be disgusted, I'll just read politics. Original thoughts? Hardly. Well spoken.

                  • Doggerel Dave

Nah - my thoughts aren't particularly original, but I felt the need to speak them anyway.... now if that's not quite what you meant.... Zombies forever...away from me...now if only I could do that with a certain kind of politician...
I'm a bit tired of it all...
                    Thanks for the call.

Brutal honesty, that's what it is. A necessary indictment against the erosion of values and subversion of morality.

                    • Doggerel Dave

Yeh - I've never been worried about being honest; and if at times that's brutal.. well I learned to duck early...
                      Thank you for your support.

                          • Paul Bell

I don't mind people escaping into their gaming machines and shooting up the world.
It's when the clowns actually translate it into reality.
Seemingly, kids spend more time gaming than they do in school now.
Probably why you never see them in the holidays now.

                            • Doggerel Dave

Get your argument - Question is the connection with reality and high powered rifles, or anything which sends a projectile out of one end....?

                            • Thomas W Case

                              Powerful and poignant.
