Goldfinch60

Busy day today,

So much to do,

Car to wash,

Windows to clean,

Grass to cut,

Bushes to trim.

But I’ll have a coffee first.

What’s that come through the door?

Oh yes the paper,

Just give it a glance,

With another cup of coffee.

Right time to start.

Where are the car keys?

Are yes next to the laptop;

Just switch it on,

See if there are any messages,

Just the one,

Need to answer,

Well PPI’s are important.

Now where are those keys?

Found the television remote,

That needs to go back in the lounge.

Something else through the door,

Letters on the mat.

One is a bill.

Better write a cheque for that.

Found cheque book,

Next to an empty cup,

Must put that in the sink.

Are well as I am in the kitchen,

Another coffee would be welcome.

Now where is my pen?

Oh yes on the desk,

Next to those letters

That need posting.

Walk to the post-box,

Chat to a neighbour,

Back in the house.

It’s lunchtime,

Just a quick bite to eat.

Now must get on.

What was I doing oh yes,

Need to clean the car

Oh dear, can’t find the keys,

Found the cheque book,

Should be in the desk.

What did I need my pen for?

No matter, must find the keys.

Found a bill,

Must write a cheque.

Where is cheque book?

Had it earlier,

Oh well, it will turn up.

Must be time for a cup of tea,

Just read a few pages of my book,

While tea is drunk.

Now what was I doing ?

I was going to vacuum the carpets.

Huh, bag needs emptying,

Into the bin with the dust,

Some goes over the car.

Must wash that tomorrow,

And the windows could do with a clean.

The grass is too long

And the bushes needs a trim.

Been too busy today .

I will do them tomorrow.

Always so tired at the end of the day

But nothing seems to get done.

Getting old seems to produce

A butterfly mind.

Disorganised just flitting,

From one thing to another.

And getting nothing done.

What a bunch of poetic confusion. Sometimes with a busy life, i guess we are forced to slow down. Lol. Great write. One of my favorites in a while.:)

Just brilliant. Perfectly captured that feeling. I can relate and I have family members who are worse than I am. One family member has us all hanging on while they float around doing goodness knows what before setting off. 😀

                      Thank you Tom much appreciated.
