Into the restaurant we went,
Went to book our table,
Book it for the weekend.
Said my name and room number,
They queried it ,
There was another person there,
Another person with my name.
Brister is an unusual name
So is not seen often.
We then went to the show room
To book our table there for the weekend,
And there were two other couples
Both waiting to book as well.
The first one was asked his name,
And he said Brister,
He was the other one.
I told him my name
And we chatted.
The four of us spent time together
To try and work out the relationship
But could not work it out,
But with our time together
We had a wonderful time,
As he and I had the same outlook,
The same outlook on life.
We were and thought the same,
Thought the same on many things
We even used the same sayings
When we met others,
Saying “Good morning young man”,
So alike we could have been brothers.
We came to the conclusion
That we were Bristers,
Two people with a fine life
And we will keep in contact.

- Comment from author about the poem: This was so weird yet so wonderful on our weekend in the hotel at the Isle of Wight. Meeting with someone with the same unusual surname as mine. We had a wonderful time talking to each other.

A fun story about the coincidences of life and how it at times is so strange. Life is full of different types of doppelgangers sometimes not physical but personality like.
Thank you soren and very true, life can be amazing.

This piece is heartwarming and whimsical. It beautifully captures the surprising joy of finding someone who mirrors your own life and habits, creating a natural connection. Nicely written.
So kind and so true Petra, thank you.
