Behind Closed Doors

Fína Elara 🌙 Petra Patrice

I missed the stop — “No worries,” he said.
“I’ll turn right back.”
I missed the art show,
but some things you just can’t return to.
Next year, we’ll wait.

I missed an event
I couldn’t get back to.
I missed a date,
but there’s always the next day.

I was late for my interview — oh no!
This one threw me off.
I had no choice but to let go.
I thought this was it…
how sadly mistaken I was.

I thought I missed the best things,
but better was waiting right behind the door.
“Knock, knock,” she said —
she had all that I thought I lost.

And what was mine
was wrapped in a big red bow.
“Hello,” he said.

There it was:
my dream school,
my company,
my life, open behind a closed door.

Girl, next time —
just open that door.

A fave for the meaning of this write. A poem of faith and belief that in itself changes one's life. To believe that all works out for the best frees one from fear. A wonderful belief

The poem "Behind Closed Doors" revolves around the notion of missed opportunities and the potential for new beginnings. It emphasizes that while we may feel regret for what we've missed, there are often better things awaiting us if we remain open to new experiences.

Wow, Petra, this glows with such hope. The missed stops and lost moments feel heavy, but then you turn it...“better was waiting right behind the door.” That single shift reframes everything, from loss to gift, from despair to grace. Uplifting and true, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Those closed doors can bring wonder to our lives when we open them Petra.
