Not Going Yet.

Goldfinch60

Into the new day I come,

Another day in my long life,

A day that will be filled with joy

As every day is that I awake.

I sit here in my home

With food to eat,

A roof over my head,

And my lover with me.

In my long life I’ve had worries

But they are no longer there

As I have lived so long

And am still feeling fine

Knowing that I have more time,

More time in my life

But also knowing

I have less time than I’ve had.

But that is good,

Looking back I’ve had a good life

And am so grateful for it,

So at my end all will be good,

But I am not going yet.

You are welcome, Andy. Your poem was like a summary of my life and I just couldn\'t initially work out how to respond - best I can do here now 👍👍. A fave.

Ahh, you didn't choose the song by Sinatra then, including the words 'Face the final curtain'. But I hate that song 'My Way' at funerals - so selfish and bigoted.

At my funeral I have asked for "Rock around the clock" to be played at the end of the service Orchi.

You have brightened this gloomy, overcast, rain threatening day my friend, with your warmth and positivity, thank you! I love your choice of song, we sang this for my father in law at his 100th birthday party and he danced.

                • Goldfinch60
