The Pretty Pea
The pea has been delicate for years,
soft all her life,
tender, the smallest pretty thing.
The pea is sweet,
she loves to bond with salt beef and dumplings,
a quiet treasure at the table.
The pea is precious,
though not every child loves her.
Yet once they are grown,
they find they cannot get enough—
sweet and delicious,
proof that pretty little things last.

Good words Petra.
Andy
Thank you Andy
And so it is with words as well. Some of the sweet poetry I heard as a child was not appreciated until I grew older but now they are treasures. Lovely and very well done Petra.
Thank you SorenBarrett
Most welcome
Petra, this is soft, playful, and warm all at once. The pea bonding at the table, the childhood reluctance, the grown-up longing...you took the simplest image and made it lasting. Beautiful work. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
