No reason

sorenbarrett

I have no need for cage or zoo
Pictures, videogames or television to view
With outside colors, birds that sing
Nature's beauty, seasons, coming of spring
Photos and memories discolor in time
But nature is a brew like fine wine
As I look around all I see
Is my contentment portrayed in natural majesty

Nature has the knack to grow back when battered. Overgrowth will resume after destruction by others. Thus, nature will reproduce its majesty for us to see.

    • sorenbarrett

Thank you Soman for reading this poem and for your comment. I am fortunate enough to live where I have nature all around me and have no need to go to a zoo of botanical garden to see it. I feel badly for life taken out of its natural habitat.

    • Paul Bell

Yes, as we run about at a hundred miles an hour, nature patiently gets on with her work.
Sometimes we need to slow down to appreciate it.

      • sorenbarrett

Thank you Paul for your read and understanding comment it is appreciated

We are all animals encaged behind sulfuric bars that the dark poetry of our condition inspires...

        • sorenbarrett

Thank you Lorenz. Indeed we are and it is hard to escape such a cage.

Soren, this piece is filled with quiet joy…rejecting the cages of distraction, raising nature’s fine wine instead. It’s about more than scenery…it’s about the patience and authenticity that make contentment possible. Beautiful work. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Thank you Tristan yes that is the essence of it alright. As simple as that what we call entertainment is merely distractions from what is real and what counts.

For sure, especially as off balance as it is anymore. You are most welcome, my friend!

A fine piece, Soren. The topic and the feel of the poem reminded me of Wordworth's Daffodils. Nicely done.
