Into the theatre we went,
In to see our favourite band,
Down for the Count were playing,
It was only the eleventh time we had seen them.
Onto the stage they came
And they started playing.
The smile came to my face
And all the time they played
My smile got bigger.
Such wonderful musicians
Playing music from the swing era.
Elise came on the stage
And sang such wonderful songs.
And then Marvin sang,
Such a wonderful voice,
So good that Sinatra would have been jealous.
The evening went so fast
So much enjoyment was had
Listening to these glorious musicians.
That smile never left my face,
Such a wonderful evening
Filled with music I love,
Played by those who loved to play it.
