They come along, frail and pretty,
beautiful in light of day,
branching beams, a complex structure,
but snowflakes melt away
They seem that they’ll be here forever,
a white world meant to stay,
but knowledge knows their time is fleeting,
snowflakes melt away
And what at first seemed ever-pleasant
will send people astray,
with sliding wheels we all do cry
“Snowflakes, melt away!”
The heat shall grow, so shall the anger,
no longer willing to play,
and all will smile and greet the sun
when snowflakes melt away…

That was really good
I feel there could be a metaphor at play here, perhaps for those people who come into our lives full of apparent depth and outward brilliance but when the tyre hits the road they disappear like "snaw aff a dyke" as they say in Scotland. (snow off a wall)
Perhaps...thanks for reading!
Metaphoric in nature this poem speaks to me of life, people and reminds us in each stanza of how fleeting time is. Very nicely done a fave
