That Four Letter Word.

Goldfinch60

It happens so often,

People say that word,

That four-letter word!

They shouldn’t speak it,

Certainly not in front of me.

I am disgusted how often,

How often it is said.

The more I hear it,

The angrier I get.

I just haven’t done it,

Haven’t done it for thirteen years

But still they say it,

Say it as though it doesn’t matter,

Well it matters to me!

I will write that word

For you to read,

But don’t say it to me,

Don’t say that word,

The word is:

WORK!

I know a 4 letter word X......, which is a 9 letter word in full, and which cannot be said, only in December. lol.

A fun read Gold yet there are many that never get to retire we just move from one job to another until dropping dead, too many bills to pay, too much inflation, too many mouths to feed, too little courage to tell people no. As for me I live in the woods and have to cut fire wood.

Thank you soren, I did my 47 years and one month without ever being out of work and feel that I was very fortunate.

You are most welcome Andy and yes I join you in this good fortune having worked 45 years without a day missed for illness, although I did have to pull a tooth in my office with a pair of pliers once because the dentist refused to do it wanting to send me to an oral surgeon.

        "Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, it's off to .... we go,"
I loved that film, Andy, but in deference to your sensitivity, with which I have some sympathy....

Thank you Dave, I was never out of w*** so was very lucky in my life.

As a fellow retiree I heartily concur. Turn it off, tune it out, I love your take on this vile word. Let's just think happy retiree thoughts. You're great!

Most kind Bella, retirement is wonderful we can do what we like if we like.

            Andy
