Sonnet On Respect.

Goldfinch60

When first we meet, let courtesy be shown,

A gentle greeting, eyes that softly shine.

In words and deeds, respect is deftly grown,

As roots of trust through tangled hearts entwine.

Though tempests rage and voices clash with might,

Let kindness reign and dignity persist.

Resisting pride, we strive through every fight,

For honour thrives where gracious hearts exist.

No crown nor coin commands the soul’s esteem,

Nor age nor title grants a right divine.

True worth is found in how our actions seem,

In mindful care and friendship’s earnest sign.

So let us walk in empathy’s embrace,

For mutual respect uplifts the human race.

Here here Andy a beautiful sonnet and one that I wish everyone would heed. Too few people have been taught to be respectful to there fellow man and many in their hurry neglect even common curtesy. Well said my friend

Oh would that it could be so, Andy.

Sonnet form certainly suits the message. Your sonnets - going to collect them together and publish?

          • Goldfinch60

Yes Dave, if it could be so.

I may think about getting them published, not sure though.

            Andy
