With Only Nine Trees Left

Neville

With Only Nine Trees Left

It’s no wonder is it surely,

that Gaea is

crying with only nine trees

left and no

bees to cross-pollinate or

to go buzzing

around high and low with

these days ..

In essence, we are all quite

simply fucked ..

Extraordinarily well screwed

so to speak

and stuck fast, in a seriously

dreadful state ..

Why we never did learn in

the first place,

is beyond me and of course,

now far too late

to even consider backtracking ..

Mother earth abused, used, left ravished and broken by its children. An error in evolution coming to a dead end. Maybe with time Gaea will spawn a better species to resurrect a dying earth. Nicely done my friend

Although I'm usually an optimistic optimist, I find myself increasingly fretful of the consequences of sustained neglect plus the anticipated accumulative fallout from clashing ego's and he power mania shared by the BIG bad three .. plus one other, who should also be ashamed of himself .. In the meantime, I plan on continuing to stock the bunker .. Thanks for taking notice brother .. just be sure you are appreciated .. whilst I am still able to appreciate that is .. Neville

It is my pleasure my friend. I hope that your last line is not a foreboding message. Hope all is well with you.

True words Neville, mankind is destroying our world and so few in power seem to care.

Neville, my friend… brutal truth beautifully spoken. “Only nine trees left” is both prophecy and elegy...a line that hums with despair and bitter humor. The world we failed still finds her voice in yours. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

As sad as it is we proclaim to be an intelligent species, yet we put so much effort into destroying the very fabric of what gives us life. I hope nature finds a way to recover from our continued destruction of it, but that may well be in vein, hope you keeping well

“Extraordinarily well screwed—so to speak. I find the injection of that one word quite… Extraordinary. Kindly pardon my simple mind. The theme is close to my heart, and I confess to a persistent pessimism. Fortunately—or unfortunately—the poem seemed to echo my bleak faith in our venerable leaders.

Why does the word venerable bring to mind venereal disease? Kindly pardon my poor English.

Well-written, your poem explores themes of environmental degradation and the profound sense of loss associated with the destruction of nature. It reflects on humanity's failure to protect the environment, emphasizing a feeling of despair regarding the future of the planet.
