Tune: Hanover
('O worship the King')
Psalm 47
**************
Clap your hands, all you people, to God shout
Let praises, the voice of triumph sound out
For the Lord most high is terrible, awesome
He a great King over all the earth, the One
He shall subdue the people under us
And the nations under our feet, and thus
He shall for us choose our inheritance sure
Excellent things for those he loves evermore
God is gone up with a shout and heard too
The sound of a trumpet, praises renew
Sing praises to God, sing praises to our King
For God is the King of all the earth, come, sing
Sing praises now with understanding
Your love, thanks, and worship to Him now bring
God reigns over the heathen, Gentiles they be
God sits on His holy throne eternally
The princes of the people gathered, see
The people of Abraham's God they be* (*Jews)
The shields of the earth unto God do belong
He our protector, defender, make glad song

Orchi this hymn takes on a more modern style. It does not seem Catholic but rather Protestant maybe even Evangelical. A good read
Thank you SB. I'm catholic in the sense of the word meaning 'universal' but not Roman Catholic.
You are most welcome my friend
Great write, Orchi! When Popeye (dang it, there he is again!) says that he eats spinach because he worships the Lord of Life, is he implying that eating meat equals worshiping the Lord of Flies...??? 🤷♂️ Was he vegan? #JustCurious
Thank you T. Hmm, can't say about Popeye's eating habits- don't know! lol.
You're welcome! Gotta watch out for those canned spinach gluggers I tell you!
Good one Orchi.
Thank you Gold.
Good one O 🙏🕊️
