A man’s pride, can’t be shamed,
thus; they make one; to be blamed,
for all pain, that is their work,
so; to shadows; I do lurk,
restless night, hate on screen,
sparkly demon of their being,
no remorse, is partook;
they point at me, with horrid look,
monkey god, thinks they’re teacher,
write all words, you silly creature;
as in mind, my fiction’s real
breach the dark, so I can feel,
give birth to hope? There’s no chance;
just another blood war dance
for your offspring, I will scare,
it’s what you want, so all is fair,
I’ll knock on bedpost; as you’ve scripted
your performing devout cryptid -
lo’ child’s eyes; fears seem true!?
Oh what trauma, because of you,
but do not tell them, sordid fact,
that all this shock; is off your back;
as I will learn, to like my role:
Tall Hat Man, that owns their soul!

- Comment from author about the poem: All demons are created by humanity. All well-known works of fiction, be them horror, are created by humanity. However, though they be fantastical, the repercussions are damagingly authentic, and can work a negative, even fearful, conduct into our lives. Sadly, as a species, it would still seem that for the most part, we are susceptible to dark beliefs, and indeed prolonging them. Exhibits A and B, politics and religion. But, surely, this cannot be; the be all and end all, when it comes to our base operation, though, can it? Or maybe, just maybe, humanity, being the deciders, and therefore the creators, are inherently dark, and just enjoy all types of "entertainment", even if it results in hurting their lives and the place they call home. Thus, by our wisdom, we create a stress, a pressure to live by. With this said, I give you the famous sleep paralysis demon, the Tall Hat Man, which of course, is a figment of humanity's imagination, and as I have mentioned above, a "necessary evil" that acts a tool. But, as I have suggested, what is creation, can become so devastatingly real, if you do not know what what you are doing. Though when things get too much, the one thing, THE ONE THING; we cannot do, is blame any one else, but ourselves. I know this sounds like a "holier than thou" preach again, of which, I do apologise, but just looking around, refills me with woe. Basic love should be the way, and not overcomplicated hate! Regardless, I hope that you enjoy this macabre poem, again, I really do hope we can work together as a species to be better, and as always, please do stay safe everyone.

It is most interesting that certain objects evoke a more spooky feel like a tall hat that is out of style and brings Jack the Ripper to mind although no one ever saw him to say he wore one he was always depicted that way. Nicely written and very Halloween like.
Thanks for the read and for your comments sorenbarrett, of which I wholeheartedly agree.
Did Jack wear a hat? Why on Earth, do people think Jesus was white? There seems to be a lot of stupid, self-serving presumptions out there, though I do not begrudge those, who are simply using their creativity, to convey their interpretation.
Thanks again, and I hope that all is well.
You are most welcome hoping that you are well also.
One day it may happen that love comes to all in the world and it becomes a wonderful place Ben.
Andy
Thanks for the read Andy, it is very much appreciated, and of course, my enduring need; and hope, for a change for the better, does indeed remain.
I hope that all is well.
