Silence

William Hromada

If silence brought peace,

the world would exhale—

no sirens, no screens.

Moth wings brush the dark,

rivers forget their names.

Lovers speak in glances,

cities fold into sleep.

A child’s laugh,

soft as snow—

the only proof we were here.
