Got a boo-boo.

Aa Harvey

Got a boo-boo

Feeling ill again.

Once a year the same old pain.

Guess it’s a changing of the seasons.

Can’t function properly.  No good reason.

Got a cold, but feeling warm.

Heating on. Think it’s 34,

But got to go out and earn some dollar.

Broken bones.  Call a guy with a white collar.

Bless this me, for I can hardly breathe.

When I wake up, inhale and cough and sneeze.

Don’t want to move.  Have to move.

Procrastinating, not feeling bullet proof.

Want to love, but could I love you?

Not today. No maybe. No way.

Just don’t have the energy for that.

Can’t flirt, when I hurt.

Can barely smile, with a tip of the hat.

Find me tomorrow, or maybe the day after.

One day soon you will hear my laughter,

But not today.  Maybe the day after.

Got a boo-boo for a body.

Cover me in plaster and break the mold,

For I am the one who has a runny nose,

So I must be going for a swan song.

When all is said and done, I need to go,

To bed.

No strength for your good love.

Don’t like feeling ill,

When all is done and said.

A most interesting meter in this poem that speaks of illness and its resultant loss of energy and desire. Maybe a metaphoric cold? Nicely done.

No metaphor today Soren. I had a bad cold a few weeks ago. Peace, Love and Empathy.

        Wishing you better health soon
