Today I awoke from a fantasy broke
Its shimmer and gleams gone with the dreams
A new world's crust of tarnish and rust
As I realize sleep's lies have turned to dust

Good write A. Some dreams can seem so real. When we wake up, we may say 'aww' if it was a nice dream, or say 'phew' in relief, if it was a bad dream.
Thanks so much Orchi I appreciate the read and comment. Yes sometimes I wonder which is the dream and which is reality.
So does KP when I feed her sewage. She says, 'Is this the reality of life for me?' I reply 'Yep! lol.
Lovely writing I feel calm and entranced just reading it
Thank you for the review and kind words of support they are most valued.
Why do people disturb you when you're having a good dream?
Why are all my nightmares about the taxman.
Thank you Paul for the review. Yes indeed the worst and the best in a dream. I share your nightmare I was audited once and promptly hired a CPA afterward.
Wow, it felt like the moment of leaving behind the illusions of dreams and confronting reality. The shimmering beauty of fantasy fades, replaced by the tarnished, rusted surface of the waking world. Itβs about the bittersweet shift from comforting illusions to the harsher truths of everyday life. Fantastic moment in poetry. πποΈ
Thank you my friend yes short and to the point I appreciate your read and interpretation that is right on point. Sometimes not a literal sleep but just a drifting off will do.
Good morning (havenβt slept)

Thank you so much Jerry for the review and kind support that you give
To dream well is a gift, especially when in the last flicker it can soften the harsh reality that it allows us to escape from. This poem with its beautiful rhyme and cadence begs to be read aloud as it rolls so smoothly off the tongue. Love it!
Thank you dear Bella your words of kindness make it worth writing and are so appreciated
