Teddy this is a splendid metaphor that works so well. Dementia may come and go as cloudy days do and in latter stages may settle in permanently for a long winter. Very nicely done my friend.
Thank you so much dear sorrenbarret a sad one, as it's really close to me but together we always find something terribly funny to laugh at, we laugh until we cry sometimes, I guess all the emotions way heavy. Thank you my dear friend. 🌹
You are most welcome Teddy dementia often weighs heaviest for friends and family and should this ever happen to me may I be stuck in a happy time period.
❤️
I know all about dementia, my wife died from it and if people start talking about it I say that if you have not lived 24/7 with somebody who has dementia you haven't a F****** clue what it is life. She had it for about seen years before she died and I was with her almost all the time.
Sorry to go on Teddy, it is an invidious problem, there are 223 different types of dementia was what I was told by a medic.
Andy
Thank you dear Andy, the terms here are all in Italian so I never understand so much, but the dimentia is also covering her eye sight, and because she is such a big fan of reading it's extra sad for us, as she truly is in a dark place. Thank you for your words dear friend. 🌹
I'm working beside a chap who isn't 60 years old yet, who is married to a dear wife twenty years his senior. Yes, she has dementia, and getting worse by the week. She also has osteo-perosis, and falls are really bad news. Between the pain and the dementia she still has good days when she's more like the girl he loves. So he keeps on, loving her. I am in awe of his faithfulness.
Thank you for the poem, the metaphor, the reminder that we only really have today with those we care about.
Thank you so much for coming by to share your words, it's incredibly hard to see isn't it, I love this lady like I loved my own mother, such an intellectual soul, always full of fun and life. 🌹
Beautiful, Teddy. A fair description.
Thank you dear Jerry, I know there is much more to say on this bit for now I shall leave it as is. Most grateful for your kind words sir. 🌹
It is a sad state. I was a nurse's aid for many years. I saw it a lot. Heart breaking. Compassionate work here in your poem.
Thank you so much dear Thomas. 🌹
