We had finished singing
And were going home;
As we walked down the corridor
The lady turned to me and said
“I don’t know what I would do
Without this Choir,
It is an oasis in my life,
The one time where I can forget my woes”.
Singing does this,
It can take you into a world
Where music is all,
Where problems are forgotten
As the notes you make
Flow into the ether,
Taking your worries with them.

- Comment from author about the poem: I am a founder member of a community choir and many people tell me that when they are sining in the choir they have peace in their lives for a while. Music does this, I have had music forever in my life. The video is of our choir, I am the guy with glasses at the front just to the left of our conductor.

A fine write Gold.
Thank you Orchi.
Music sets the mood. From battle cry to the blues it takes the soul there. Nicely worded Andy

Most welcome Andy
Dear Andy, you have no idea how much I can relate to this poem. I sing every Thursday with my group at the nursing home and it is the best day of the week.
When I'm feeling a bit down I sing in the car. I can almost feel those happy little endorphins whizzing around in my brain. Thank you so much for all the joy that that you share with us.
So pleased that you sing as well Bella, singing can bring such wonder into our lives.
