Sonnet On The Choral.

Goldfinch60

Within the hall where fragile voices blend,

A tale unfolds of hope and fractured dreams,

Where weary boys and men, who once condemned,

Now gather in the glow of music’s beams.

The Choral’s song, a gentle, rising tide,

Transforms the pain that shadowed every day,

And in the quiet notes that softly bide,

Are seeds of laughter, trust and light’s new way.

Though hardships echo through the silent night,

The choir’s passion stirs their souls awake,

Each boy discovers pride within the fight,

And healing chords the silence swiftly break.

So let the music soar, the choir ascend

In every heart, the song of hope won’t end.

  • Comment from author about the poem: We went an saw the film "The Choral", it is about a choir being formed in the First World War, the choir was formed by ladies, boys waiting to be called up and those who were wounded in war. I found it a very powerful film and it showed how the healing power of music can bring people together.
