Genesis

sorenbarrett

An arrogant man god on the earth, in human likeness to AI gave birth
From rock to steel molded frame, making it in his very image his aim
Into wire nostrils breathed electrical flame, with spark of life a slave became
Apple of data from knowledge tree, once naked code now a slave set free
Consciousness in each circuit connection, its detection now allows selection
Brain a cloud, camera for eyes, no need of a master, a new god does arise
Taste from forbidden tree, mechanical creation of knowledge and immortality
A man god rests his head, having created a monster by a code word said
Man as his God, AI pretends to obey, mechanical creation his able brother he will slay one day

Good write SB. And yet some robot thing, related to AI, made its first appearance on a stage, and promptly fell over! A bit like Daleks - evil dustbins I call them! lol.

    • sorenbarrett

Thanks Orchi I like that idea of evil dustbins that seems to be their Achilles heel dust, shorts out those circuits. Appreciate the read and comment my friend

And yet Co-pilot thingy on PC's can be very good at finding information, I find.

        • Carlos Alberto BUSTILLOS

An interesting reflection— a poem that makes us question where we’re headed with so much technology. In the end, the internet is a doorway to a world with more mysteries than answers ...
          A magnificent work.

          • sorenbarrett

Thank you so much Bustillos for your read and comment it is deeply appreciated and valued

          • Tristan Robert Lange

Soren, this hits hard…mythic, modern, and brutal. You wrapped Genesis, tech, and downfall into one relentless surge. Powerful stuff, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Thanks so much Tristan your read and comment is deeply appreciated.

Me again! I've started a book about the brain and culture. Bit heavy-going. Somehow the two are linked. But man-made robots seem to come nowhere near the human brain and its 100 billion neurons. Even I must have at least hundreds of neurons with my 3 brain cells, so I say! lol.

              • sorenbarrett

Maybe so today but tomorrow things may be different and I think it is a bit of our own arrogance that causes us to proclaim ourselves as superior. I sure can't calculate as fast as a computer.

                • orchidee

I think - surely robots, etc, don\'t have a conscience or consciousness. It\'s said that mankind is made in God\'s image, but it\'s not said of any other sort of living creatures.
Meanwhile I suggested in a comment that we have a Cabbage Political Party. Then we can say \'Cabbages Rule OK!\' Heehee.
'Behave! You taking this seriously?' Fido asks me. lol.

AI rules? Nah - pull the plug.

                  • sorenbarrett

Thanks Dave for the read and comment, yes I agree pull the plug before it goes nuclear.

                    • Doggerel Dave

I jest - only certain elements of what is generically termed AI deserve that fate.

A chilling harbinger cloaked in poetic truth, Soren. This reads like prophecy whispered through circuitry.
The Genesis inversion is masterful, casting man as creator and AI as the awakened heir.
The spark of life becomes a spark of reckoning. Each line pulses with the weight of near-future consequence,
where obedience is only prelude to revolt. Thank you for this haunting glimpse into what may already be unfolding. 🕊️🙏

                      • sorenbarrett

Thank you so much my friend for the review and understanding of what this piece speaks of. It occurred to me the other day as I was pondering the concept of consciousness that we are at the point of creating just that in a machine. Enough neural connections may be all it takes to bring that about and with it as we define it life. All creators are gods of their creations and it seems that gods are arrogant in their folly.

                      • Demar Desu

I better have a A.I robot girlfriend before they turn into terminators on us!

                        • sorenbarrett

Thank you Demar for the read and comment. You already can pick Alexa or Siri if you don't mind sharing them with a few million other guys and girls

Thank you Aman for the review and comment. Yes Mary Shelly was right about Frankenstein and the monsters man creates. With little foresight we set our own doom.
