A thousand

sorenbarrett

Poems written to discover me, some dark some in transparency
Flowers opening attract the bee, others aborted fell from the tree
A thousand blossoms grew and fell, each casting their own spell
Ask as I might from this wishing well, none their secret would tell
Taking them in single file, sweeping them into a pile
Petals of letters I did compile, from a colorful perianth sprouted a smile

Oohh, well done SB, and good write here again! As in a recent poem of mine, a 'thousand' in Biblical times could mean 1,000, or one troop of however many men. So for 'a thousand thousand', it may mean one million, or one thousand troops of however many men. Here ends maths lesson. lol.

Thanks so much Orchi to post a thousand thousand may take a while. About four thousand years at current rate maybe a bit less. Appreciate the read and comment my friend.

Maybe you've written even more, if you're millions of years old as Goldfinch and I are - so we say! lol.

        • sorenbarrett

I was lazy back in those days, didn't write much I think there was a heavenly injunction against poetry in those days it was considered subversive due to the devil's tongue being good at verse.

          • orchidee

            Ahh, I see. lol.

I say, onto the next thousand because everyday the scene changes and the poet loves change to draw his pictures in words.
              Keep going.

              • sorenbarrett

Thanks so much Paul I appreciate the read and comment of encouragement. Yes I don't see myself stopping until the brain or heart gives out

Soren, this one feels gentle and reflective the whole way through… like watching memory fall in petals around you. It lands soft and sure. Love it, my friend.🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Thanks Lorenz yes I would much rather be poisoned lovingly than loved brutally
