Memories lay under dust in shaded coolness kept
An aged patina crust covers both joy and sorrow wept
Growing cobwebs of the mind hold bottled recollections
Vintage emotions confined in dark vessels preventing reflections
An unexpected knock at the door, an uninvited guest
Uncorked, it breaths ready to pour, the past undressed
A goblet full of years with intoxicating taste
Fermented juice of tears poured dregs turned to waste

A cellar of memories, good and bad.
For some reason, I'm thinking vintage French wine being drank by German invaders
In saying that, someone you didn't want back has returned like the proverbial bad penny.
Thanks so much for the read, review and interpretation Paul. Your instincts are correct not so much about the French or German but the bad penny will serve. I appreciate it very much
I knew I shouldn't have locked KP in that cellar for a week. It only made her tipsy! lol.
Thanks so much Orchi for the read and words of support. You can go let her out now
I am a German invader who prefers beer !
Cold draft beer on a hot day is better but with a fine meal wine goes well. Thanks for the read my friend
What a perfect metaphor, love like a fine wine has its many aspects, it can age gracefully and mellow when well kept, or turn sour with oxidation when exposed to harsh reality. Beautifully conceived and written my friend!
Dear Bella thank you so much for the read and kind words of interpretation they again are most appreciated
Soren…this hits like a door cracking open in the dark…I feel the chill…those bottled years breathing out all at once. You captured memory as something aged and dangerous. Excellent and a fave, my friend! 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Thanks Tristan for the review and most kind words. They are appreciated
You are most welcome, my friend!
"Vintage emotions" and don't they just get richer when left in the cellar? So well done and well written
