“As Absence Turns”
The sky bends under unnamed weight,
a path without its anchor,
voices gather but refuse
to name what hardens or shines.
Light fractures across the stone,
a sudden presence where absence ruled.
The ground steadies, yet no mooring holds,
and brightness refuses to gleam by name.
Anchor drifts between broken syllables,
shine threads through the dim air.
The song rises without burden,
and the horizon dissolves into motion.

- Comment from author about the poem: Footnote: This poem is composed in a prototype form called the BanβCycle Stanza. Each stanza operates under a rotating banβlist: certain motifs are forbidden in one stanza, then required in the next, while new bans are introduced. The cycle creates tension through absence and renewal through return, making constraint itself the generative engine of the poem.

The poem βAs Absence Turnsβ explores the complex interplay between presence and absence, suggesting that even in the absence of clear definitions or meanings, beauty and motion can exist.
Thank you so much dear Friendship ππ»ποΈ
Cryptic the format is complex and beautiful but it is the message that first grabbed me. Although it refers to the format itself I took it as the mind of the poet that in absence of thought or topic grapples and in the end it flows. Well done my friend a fave
I am most grateful to you dear friend ππ»ποΈ
Always my pleasure my friend
Good write A.
Thanks Oππ»ποΈ
My friend, the shifting light, the drifting anchor, the rise of a wordless songβ¦it all comes together in a quiet, evolving beauty. You write transition with such ease. πΉπ€ππ―οΈπ¦ββ¬
It's time to harness the features and movement of transition as children of transitional ages between centuries and between generations. Thank you, Tittu πποΈ
Yessss! You are most welcome.
It's the created atmosphere I look for in your poems, Rik.
May that always be provided for! Thanks DDποΈππ»
Intriguing write Rik, that absence can still be filled though.
Andy
Hopefully not with mere noise. A quiet companionable hello works just as well ποΈππ»
