A crackling in the fireplace
as I sit on my old chair
listening to it, just as if it was music?
reminiscing of times less complicated
as the cold winds blow outside my window
I think about everything that is wonderful
and everything that is not
from my window I see a pigeon on the grass, walking round in circles
I see he is wearing a Trilby hat, he's holding a breifcace
I close my eyes in disbelief
and as I open them
well, he's just a pigeon after all
I've never heard anyone ever say how beautiful a pigeon is
but as I look closer I see he definitely has a special quality
and as I fight to open my window in the wind
to gently throw a piece of bread
where Instantly arrives another pigeon bigger and faster
he takes the bread and flies away
my pigeon, although disappointed continues to walk round in circles.

Teddy my friend this poem does indeed seem a metaphor where what is deserved and meant for one is often taken by another with more power. Yet one keeps at their activities just the same in hopes that maybe just maybe some reward will come through. Stick with it my friend perseverance will eventually pay off. Very nicely done
Thank you my dear sorrenbarret, my absence has a lot to do with focus on life as I find it really hard to be treated badly by those who are under achievers, especially when I work in a second language which also isn't easy, my friend you speak to me the same way Rumi does, I will never change I will never let anyone, change me into being carefree and undignified, I have much passion. Thank you for your words I will print them and cherish them on my locker at work. 🌹
You are most welcome Teddy may your day be a bright, one full of peace and success
I have said there are 3 basic ways to end up in a poem. 1) Date/Marry a poet. (sure-fire way). 2) Be a thought-provoking muse. 3) Be an asshole! Case, meet point! LOL! Wonderful job, my friend. There is nothing like immortalizing an asshole...it's hard to see any other part after that! 🤣 A bully becomes nothing but a display of their own wrinkled flatuence ring (TMI 🤷♂️😅)...or in this case, a starved, pathetic pigeon! Poetic justice in my book! Love this and love your fire, my friend! 🔥🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Thank you so much dear Tristan, Thank you my dear friend and poet. 🌹
😊
Strong words Teddy, there is always that one that bullies others, I always say that with people like that apathy is a strong weapon to use.
Andy
Indeed dear Andy, thank you so much. 🌹
Hi Teddy, this is a good write but I'm sad to hear about the bullying 😔. Message me if you'd ever like to talk about it.
- Syd
Thank you dearest Syd. 🌹 Just saying what you said makes me feel truly wonderful, sorrenbarret has left me with an enormity of strength, I live and work in a different language but even in London it wasn't perfect I'm strong, I'm equipped and I don't take grief from anyone without a fight, I always keep my dignity. Thank you so much for this amazing kind and generous affection. As long as I can write about it I'm forever healing. 🌹
Hysterical and sad...a rare feat. Excellent work.
🤣 thank you my sweet Thomas. 🌹 One has to see the funny side and I'm glad you have my friend, we live in a world of obstacles 💜
