The Wind Comes to my Rescue

Katie B.

The Wind Comes to My Rescue

Even in the unflinching heat of night I find respite

In repose, the macramé hammock of youth cradles

The wind comes to my rescue in my sweltering

Humidity hangs heavy in South Florida

The innocence of night entices

At once I’m drawn to the stars

Scattered in the sky like night lights

Hung perfectly like pictures on my wall

The moon holds its usual place

Breathless

It seems the moon breathes for the sky

Its omnipotence holds my earth captive

Beautiful and most identifiable images in this poem of the night sky and air. Well done Katie

Welcome to my world. I live in South Florida,,,,,,,, The poem "The Wind Comes to My Rescue" explores themes of solace and connection with nature during a restless night. It reflects on the comfort provided by the wind and the beauty of the night sky, capturing a moment of introspection and serenity amidst the heat and humidity of South Florida.

The moon can be our saving grace at time Katie, its beauty can bring so much joy to us all.
