The forest through the years has grown eyes and ears
Each remembering what it sees or hears, shedding dew drops of misty tears
From within the wood a memory understood, a shade slips and falls
Whispered words from passing birds, lost deeds recalls
Secrets kept here have slept in beds of green
Flowing streams bring dreams of enchanted scene
Sediment of souls buried under dirt, leaves, valley and knolls
Here one knows no wind blows and the king of the woods in shadows patrols

Good write SB.
Thanks so much Orchi I appreciate it
Your poem embodies the profound connection between nature and memory, highlighting how the forest serves as a repository of experiences, emotions, and secrets. The woods are personified as having consciousness, recalling past events and holding the essence of life within them. The poet also explores themes of memory, nature, and the passage of time through the lens of the forest.
Thank you so much Friendship for the review and interpretation you are right on with your view and it seems at time walking in the forest that it has spirits of its own that talk to those that listen. Your words are most appreciated my friend
You're so welcome. Soren. As a child, I was taught by my dad that the woods out there speak to you. Nature has its own way of corresponding to each other, and yet it is amazing how beautiful it can be.
Really like this one SB. Forward, direct and easy to comprehend. I love anything inspired by nature. Nice work!!
Thank you so much Katie for the read and understanding words of support they are deeply valued
You bet!!
Once upon a time, man and the forest fed off each other, lived and died in harmony.
I sometimes think people don't realise how important trees are.
In a way, they are probably more important than humans.
Thank you so much Paul for your read and interpretation. I would agree with you they are far more important for the earth's ecology that we. We don't breath off oxygen for life to breath off of.
A fine write, sorenbarrett. Do I sense a Druid heart?
Thank you Jerry Druid or not I am a nature lover. I appreciate your read and comment

Powerful work.

Those woods hold so many secrets form us all Soren and it would be wonderful to hear some of them.
Andy
Thanks Andy yes it is only with ten thousand walks and many years that those secrets are slowly given up. Appreciate the read and kind words
