Eden had no fences until man came

sorenbarrett

Eve stole the apple from the tree, forbidden knowledge to see
Cain killed Abel in this biblical fable, all over jealousy
Since then man did fight for master's right to property
A bloody hand a struggle over land, failing to understand nature is free

An Israelite a Palestinian does fight, a blood feud from long ago
A Russian a Ukrainian is crushen, over ancestral land of endless woe
Over oil thirst Venezuela immersed, Maduro is ripe to go
Up to this day it has always been this way, we fight for land and water's flow

We don't understand that no one owns land, it belongs to one and all
Just like air its for all to share, no matter how big or small
No government should tax mansion or shacks, what our home we call
Land has no border, no God given order where a fence should fall

To own land or sea it the same as slavery, you don't own such things
It's like a fight over owning day or night, it's misery that greed brings

Thanks Orchi I appreciate the read and comment. Giving her apples with worms just broadens her food groups giving protein and meat with the fruit group.

      • orchidee

M generosity knows no bounds to her! Giving her extra protein now too.

Supremacy is on the rise thanks to a certain outrageous crazy leader and some very naive voters 😢

          • sorenbarrett

Thank you Teddy for your read and support it is inherent in man's nature to be possessive and greedy and is not restricted to one nation or time but pervasive in the species. No wonder we are a waring species. Your words are most appreciated

          • Friendship

Your poem revolves around the concept of ownership, specifically the human tendency to claim land and resources, which leads to conflict and suffering. It critiques the notion of property and borders, suggesting that land, like air, should be shared by all rather than owned by individuals or nations. The poem draws connections between biblical narratives and modern conflicts, illustrating a long-standing pattern of violence and jealousy over territorial claims.

Thank you so much Friendship for the read and interpretation of this piece. Man and his possessive greed is destined for war and murder over what is not his and never was. A life lost over an inch of land is sad when we could be cooperative and live in harmony like the bee sharing all things in common. But then capitalism would not work and the economy would fall in ruins having to be built in another form.

              • Friendship

You're absolutely right. Sorenbarrett, Human nature's innate drive for acquisition inevitably sparks conflict and violence over possessions that rightfully belong to others. Yet, it is in these moments that we discover our capacity for cooperation, compassion, and peace, as exemplified by the harmonious community of bees, and while implementing such a system would require a revolutionary shift away from capitalist principles, potentially leading to economic transformation, it would also unlock unprecedented opportunities for growth, unity, and a brighter future, necessitating a fundamentally different yet profoundly uplifting

Soren, this is direct, uncompromising, and necessary. You weave ancient story into modern violence and arrive at a truth that feels almost too obvious…and yet still ignored. The refusal to sanctify borders or greed gives this real moral weight. Strong work, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
