Like A River After Rain

Katie B.

Like A River After Rain

I felt it rising out of the corner of my eye

The plates stared at me

As if asking to be thrown

Anger seethed through open pores

Horns, sirens, noises agitated

Like the edges of Satan’s garb

Anger, tears

Always found their way back to me

Back to where the stars were blank

And our moon hollow

Frustration rose like a river after rain

If only the thick river knew my name

Anger can flood at the rainy season surging over its banks and carrying with it what ever lies in low lands. Powerful and deadly it is indiscriminate in its murky turbulent destruction and has no friends. Nicely written Katie

Anger can come to us all Katie but to my mind it is a place where you need to move on, put it in a box in your mind and leave it there.

Thank you Andy. Not me, just creative writing. I'm not an angry person by nature.

Pretty sure the river does know your name. Great take on frustration.
