Tune: Heathlands
('God of mercy, God of grace')
Hosea 5 v.14 - 6 v.3
*********
The Lord says, I go, it known
Return to my place, till shown
By my people that they do
Confess their offences true
And seek my face, for they shall
In their troubles seek me well
The people's response, Come, let
Us return to the Lord yet
For He has torn, and will heal
Will act for our soul's good weal* (*well-being)
He has smitten us, and He
Will bind us up too, so be
In two days He will revive
Us, we shall in Him sure thrive
In third day He will us raise
We shall live in His sight, praise
Him for His grace and mercy
For forgiven we shall be
Then shall we know, if we do
Follow on to know Him true
His going forth is ready
Appears as the dawning, see
After the night, and refresh
Us with rain and shall us bless

Lovely and noteworthy as always Dee! You are so faithful! You heed the call. You are an inspiration and admired.
Thank you K.
Well Orchi that is reassuring and a hymn should be just that reassuring for isn't that what people go to church for? Well written my friend it takes me back to my old church going days. Anything that can create nostalgia is poetic to me.
Thank you SB. There's parts of the Bible that attribute EVERY thing to God as 'first cause' - as here maybe - He tears AND heals; He smites AND will bind us up. I'm gonna bind KP up - tie her to the chair with ropes for a month! lol.
Now Orchi that sounds a little kinky, ya into that bondage stuff should be ratted +18 you'll get Fido going here. You are always most welcome my friend
Well written, my friend. Your poem expresses a deep yearning for reconciliation and healing between the Lord and His people. It emphasizes the importance of repentance, faith, and divine mercy, illustrating a cycle of sin, consequence, and redemption.
Thank you F.
Most welcome, my friend
Beautiful, Orchi! I am a fan of this series, though I wonder if maybe KP might be feeling left out...or just relieved that you've given her a vacation? 🤣 I am sure Fido knows.
As for the Repentant Returning...we knew a few who may return, but will never glugging repent! LOL! 😂 Made up words don't count as +18, do they? 🤪
Thank you T. lol.
You are most welcome, my friend! 🤣
Good one Orchi.
Thank you Gold.
