The tears I shed
weren't tears of happiness
yet were just tears of pure abandonment and despair
as you left me to fend for myself
you gave me your love
made me smile when no one else could
promising to stay forever
but in the end
you broke that promise.
And I hate you deeply for that
but secretly,
deep in my heart,
I know that,
I could never hate the only one who made me truly smile.

- Comment from author about the poem: I lost the love of my life to suicide earlier this year. And I just thought I would share my thoughts I've had stuck in my mind for some time now. I do apologise for not posting any of my newer poems, I kind of lost most of my motivation throughout this year.

A powerful poem. I am so sorry for your loss❤️. Your poem revolves around the complex emotions of love, loss, and betrayal. It reflects the duality of feeling both love and hatred towards someone who has caused deep emotional pain, emphasizing the struggle between those conflicting feelings.
Anger and hate so often confused. Anger comes to all at one time or another and at all once in a while. Justified or not it is normal. Hate on the other hand is a corrosive feeling burning the one that holds it. Hopefully it never enters one's grasp. A good write
