Pentecost Proclamation

orchidee

Tune: Richmond

('Fill thou my life, O Lord my God')

Acts 2 v.16-21

************

Peter did explain Joel's words

A prophet he of old

Said, it shall come to pass in last

Days, former days now past

That I will pour out my spirit

On all flesh, lives be lit

Your sons and daughters prophesy

Young men {and women} see visions nigh

And your old men {and women} they shall dream dreams

Revealed by my light's beams

On my servants and my handmaids

My Spirit too displayed

For they shall prophesy, and I

Will show in earth and sky

Wonders in heaven, signs below

To Earth blood, fire, smoke shown

The sun shall be turned to darkness

The moon to blood no less

Before that great and notable

Day of the Lord to all

And it shall come to pass, that who

Shall call on the name true

Of the Lord shall be saved and they

Safe be in judgement day

A rather well known excerpt there my friend that moon to blood thing I mean. I guess it was a rather graphic image that stuck in the mind of many. A good hymn that has to end on that last positive of being safe or everyone would go home and board up their windows. Nicely done Orchi

Thank you A. Or a very 'British' response: 'Bit windy there, what? Tally ho!' lol.

Your poem reflects the prophetic vision of the future, emphasizing the outpouring of the Spirit of God upon all people, leading to divine revelations, signs, and the promise of salvation for those who call upon the Lord.

            Happy new year to you.
Is it Pentecostal festival time or does that come later.
I'm going to make an effort to churchify myself this year. l
