Forgotten Pain

itza i

I didn’t forget what pain felt like,

I just thought I could finally push it away,

I didn’t forget how it felt to not be wanted,

I just thought I could somehow be wanted,

 I didn’t forget who I was,

I just thought I could change

I didn’t forget how to hide who I am,

Or how I feel, I just forgot I had to,

I didn’t forget what it was like to have as closed heart,

I just forgot how painful it is to keep it open,

But the good thing is I won’t forget again,

I won’t feel again, I won’t think again,

I won’t break my own heart again,

Because once again it’s my fault.

WE feel pain for a reason and it is to tell us to not do that. If we ignore it we suffer the consequences. Nicely written
